The Phillies owe him a $25 million salary in 2016 plus a $10 million buyout for his 2017 compensation despite a poor performance that included a .233 average and league-leading 190 strikeouts in 2014. The slugger inked a 5-year, $125 million contract extension in 2010. Together with his wife, they released the first in a series of children's book in January through Scholastic. In 2012, he became the first player to win the Triple Crown since Carl Yastrzemski in 1968, making a good achievement for his bank account. His off-field earnings have ascended in recent years.
