He is an American football defensive tackle playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers  of the National Football League.

He inked a 6-year, $95.2 million contract extension with Tampa Bay in October 2014. The contract includes $51.5 million guaranteed which is the largest in league history for a defensive tackle. He was drafted third overall in 2009 and has made the Pro Bowl each of the past three years. His endorsement contracts are with Nike, Publix Super Markets and Tide.

His $240 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels also includes milestone bonuses of $3 million for 3,000 hits and $7 million for the all-time home run record of 763. He had 2,519 hits and 520 home runs entering the 2015 season. The slugger boosted his memorabilia income after his 500th home run in 2014. Nike remains his biggest endorsement partner.
